after dark originals

Suicidal birds, a crazy scarecrow and a women hammering nails into her fingers. All a part of the new trailer for the "Husk", the first release from the new After Dark Originals series. It was also my Senior Prom theme, which is a really weird coincidence.

Christopher Landon, the guy who wrote "Paranormal Activity 2" may in fact not be writing the third film in the series but instead working on a new film titled "Wake" which would star none other than Miss Miley Cyrus. Now who's excited? Just me? Whatever, you guys are pricks.

Here's Amanda Seyfried in a hot new poster for the upcoming film "Red Riding Hood". Look at those ankles! Man it's like Playboy if it had come out in 1812 or whenever the Pilgrims came to Florida and started a colony. Something like that.

Oh Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, you're like the two best friends I always wanted but never had. We would spend our weekends in your parents basements drinking beers and playing air hockey. We'd high five so many times our hands would hurt. But enough of my fantasy, here's the second trailer for the alien flick "Paul", which stars those two if you couldn't of guessed.

I have to say, based on the new images from the 3D flick "Behind the Walls" I thought I might be into it. Then I found out it's a French movie. Then I found out it's about a girl who travels to a spooky town to write a book. French and books don't add up to movie fun, they add up to boring cheese parties where you talk about novels. That's not fun for anyone.

After Dark Originals will hit theaters on January 28th and I couldn't be more excited. The festival will showcase 8 different films from the horror genre with different themes. What those are I'm not sure but the promo has a guy hammering nails into his hand so that's a positive. For us, not for him, it's got to suck for him.

Well this is heartwarming. "The Exorcist" has been added to the official National Film Registry by the The Library of Congress. Which means even after World War 3 there's going to be nothing left but cockroaches and "The Exorcist". Well those and apparently "Saturday night Fever" too but lets hope the bombs get that one.

UFO International productions, the same people that brought you "Lake Placid 3", have put out a long ass synopsis and poster for their new film "Vampire Nation". I refuse to read the plot of the film but my guess is it has something to do with a country overrun by vampires and the 80's pop star who I thought was dead that's going to fight them.

Bruce Campbell sat and dished a bit on "Bruce Vs. Frankenstein" in a recent interview. The planned sequel to "My Name is Bruce", the actor plans on filming during his next "Burn Notice" break and hopes to pack as many horror icons into the film as he can.

"Ghost Rider" fans, if there are any, can now prepare themselves for seeing Nic Cage's hair in glorious 3-D! Cage talked about the sequel in a recent interview were her hinted towards a 3-D installment as well as the involvement of Dracula. Yes, that Dracula.

Did you shed a little tear like I did when we saw the demise of Franklin on this season of "True Blood"? Cry no more fans, James Frain who portrays Franklin has signed on to the After Dark Original thriller "Transit" working along side the likes of Jim Caviezel and Diora Baird.

In case you forgot about the internet all together yesterday, AMC has finally released the official Comic Con trailer for "The Walking Dead". To weigh in on the subject is our crack Bloody Good Horror reporter, Me! "This show is going to be amazing!" Casey Criswell said during a recent BGH News Update. In addition to the stellar trailer, AMC has also let us know that "The Walking Dead" will debut this Halloween.

"Automaton Transfusion" director Steven C. Miller talks about his entry for the new "After Dark Originals" line, "Scream of the Banshee". Starring Lauren Holly, the film is described as an old school monster movie and hopes to be the anchor to the new addition to the "After Dark 8 Films to Die For" family.

I'm sure you've been waiting for the return of the lesser known Duff sister Haley to the big screen. Worry no more as Haley Duff is in talks to star in the upcoming thriller "Cousin Sarah", a story of somebody's weird cousin moving to town where unexplained events start happening. Here's hoping her already signed co-star Jason Mewes lands the title roll of 'Cousin Sarah'.

The official plot details for Kevin Smith's upcoming "Red State" have appeared online and it looks passable! Centered around a Fred Phelps like evangelist, the movie hopes to show a new kind of 'extreme fundamentalism'.

Are you a big fan of Netflix and their handy streaming video service? Get ready to like it even more as the company has struck a deal with Paramount, Lionsgate and MGM Studios. Quite simply, there's going to be even more fun stuff to watch while wasting time at work!

The "After Dark" Film festival extends their indie horror reach as they create After Dark Originals, their own film film production arm. Continuing to showcase new talent, the new venture allows them to produce their own movies with new directing and producing talent.

Prepare yourself; Sigourney Weaver is going to bite you. The veteran actress has signed on to play a Queen Vampire in Amy Heckerling's horror comedy, "Vamps"! Weaver will be starring alongside Alicia Silverstone and Kristen Ritter.

Craig Gillespie, director of "Lars and the Real Girl", has been tapped to direct the upcoming "Fright Night" remake proving that there actually is one person out there that still cares about this project!
