Horror Headlines 5/12/08

I would be remiss if I didn't start today's news with the sort of almost topless pictures of Megan Fox from the set of "Jennifer's Body". Okay, ya, I feel better now.

George Romero has already written the script for "Diary of the Dead 2", and we may be seeing it sooner than you think. Oh, and he picked the worst piece of promotional art from the first film for the advance poster... good sign. Check out Jon's negative "Diary of the Dead" review to see what you can look forward to in the sequel.

Here's a picture of Sam Jackson looking badass as "Octopus" on the cover of Comic-Con magazine. The character is from Frank Miller's "Spirit", which will bring it's "Sin City-esque" vibes to theaters on Christmas Day, 2008.

More stills from "The Dark Knight"? Okay, I'm still game.

BD is reporting that Paul W.S. Anderson is back on writing duties for the "Castlevania" adaptation, after having left the project all together a few months ago. Sylvian White is still attached to direct. I probably should have reported this story before the topless shots of Megan Fox... it would have taken the sting out of it.

In Real People News:

Need a vacation? How about Burma, where you can share the beaches with droves of floating corpses? Ya, that's the ticket.

Okay, so whose to blame for the Japanese guy who was lit on fire during his interrogation recently? Well, he was the one who doused himself in kerosene when confronted by police, but then again, THEY were the ones who gave him a cigarette later on. Basically the moral of this story is, it's everyone's fault.

On this day in history:

1985: After attempting to serve arrest warrants at 6221 Osage Avenue, police in West Philadelphia are sucked into a 90-minute gunfight with members of the MOVE organization. Later, police drop a bomb on the house from a helicopter. The bomb misses its target and ignites a fire which consumes the entire city block. 61 houses are destroyed in the conflagration, killing 11 MOVE members -- including five children -- and leaving hundreds of neighbors homeless.
