Horror Headlines: Monday January 19th, 2009

According to Wes Craven's Twitter, the remake of "Last House on the Left" will be released March 13th, 2009.

Here are some awesome "Thriller" vinyl figures coming to you from the Yamato toy company. The set comes with a few different versions, including a "zombie Jacko", which is pretty sweet.

I loved Ti West's "The Roost", so I'm looking forward to whatever he does next. It's unfortunate though that his new film "House of the Devil" sounds a lot like a "Rosemary's Baby" rip. Plus, nowadays when I hear the phrase "the cast is loaded with genre veterans" it kind of makes me cringe a little. Producer Larry Fessenden says they're about to finalize the film (which has already been shot), and debut it at some festivals over the next few months.

Rob Zombie has cast Chris Hardwicke in his "Halloween" sequel, pretty much ensuring that it will be impossible to get into this movie without being distracted by all of his friends running around in it. You may remember Hardwicke from his first film "House of 1,000 Corpses", or that dating show "Singled Out" he used to host with Jenny McCarthy in the 90's.

Tons of new pics from "Friday the 13th", as well as a few sweet new posters.

In Real People News:

As if we didn't already have enough things stacked against us in all this 2012 business, now the Sun could destroy us all. I never trusted that bastard.

Tom Cruise quote: "I've always wanted to kill Hitler, I hate that guy. Wow, perhaps the most profound thing I've ever heard.

On this day in history:

1847: A group of Mexicans and Indians enters the Taos home of New Mexican Territory Governor Charles Bent, and scalps him.
