The DVD Bargain Bin

It's 2009, time for another Nic Cage action/thriller/scifi/blockbuster! Knowing came out to mixed reviews but the trailers look to pack some excitement and mystery. Let's hope it's not held short by Nic Cage's custom dead pan blocky delivery!

The Unborn was not well loved around these parts. Despite Gary Oldman and promises of good old fashioned religious demon horror, it managed to fall short. Coming out on DVD they've now released it in an unrated version that they hope will round out the blah and give it a little more scare.

Near Dark is the classic 1987 vampire flick directed by Katherine Bigelow. Starring the likes of Lance Henriksen, Adrian Pasdar, Bill Paxton and more. If you don't have this in your collection yet, now's the time to buy!

Okay, pay attention, this is FRESH. Four friends get fed up with the grime of the inner city and head to the country side to get away. Once they setup camp, a mysterious girl shows up. Before long, the friends discover that there's more to the girl than meets the eye and they're being hunted down by a deadly force! Like I said, Dead Wood is FRESH.

Starring Danny Glover, Steve Zahn and Leelee Sobieski, Night Train is a sleazy little thriller chock full of stolen diamonds, disposing bodies and two-faced chicanery. Two passengers and the conductor find a dead body on their night train. The passenger has diamonds in his belongings and they figure it would be a shame to let them go to waste. As the night wears on their plans to rid themselves of the body escalate along with their distrust of each other.
