rob zombie

Horror Headlines: Thursday September 23rd, 2010

It's official kids, Rob Zombie's next film will be titled "The Lords of Salem". You want more info? The movie will apparently be about a group of 300 year old witches who wreak havoc on modern day Salem, Massachusetts. Maybe the witches will all have silly accents! Oh wait..

I think we may have talked about this months ago on the site but MTV has finally given David Harris' "Savage County" a release date. The drunk kids in the woods series will air on October 7th at 11PM on MTV2. Thank the cast of "The Jersey Shore" for putting away the condoms for a week in order for this to actually see the light of day.

And it wouldn't be a weekday without some new photos from "Saw 3D" coming online. Today we get to see Cary Elwes as Dr. Gordon and if you were at my house last night around 10:30 you would have seen me realize that's the same guy from the first one and blood shooting out of my temples from rage.

Well tickle my 9 year old self again because Corey Feldman recently dropped some good news that the original "The Lost Boys" will be screening at selected House of Blues locations around the country. Apparently the whole thing will be set up as a big event where fans can come dressed in costume and get a sneak peek of "Lost Boys: The Thirst". Get your greasy sax man outfit ready!

In Real People News:

A Hungarian man has found the face of Satan in his bathroom tile. Frightening yes but you have to admit Jesus has been hogging all the toast lately so it's about time the other side got his time in the spotlight.

The first clip from "Hatchet II" has made its way online and is ready for your viewing. The film will be released in full unrated glory on October 1st and from the clip looks to be just as good as the original. Take that any way you like.

Confirmation has come down from the heavens that there will in fact not be a TV movie made to wrap up the "Heroes" series. I had no idea the show was even canceled. What happened on the last episode? Did the cheerleader get knocked up?

"Big movie news announcement coming soon. Finally." That's the word from Rob Zombie's twitter account. Is that news? I'm not even sure at this point but I'm giddy with excitement.

The film is called "Chain Letter" and there's a new clip up on the tubes for you today. Remember how spooky it was to get a chain letter twenty years ago? About damn time they made a movie about that. Alright truth be told I didn't read the movie's synopsis but I'm taking a shot in the dark based on the title.

In Real People News:

Wasn't this the plot of an episode of "Seinfeld"? A library in Minnesota recently had a book returned that was 35 years overdue Unfortunately the book wasn't "Tropic of Cancer".

If you've been anticipating the arrival of Jude Law and Forrest Whitaker's futuristic thriller "Repo Men", be sure to check out the new motion comic.

Not content with just movies and now TV, Rob Zombie is returning to the world of comics with "What Ever Happened to Baron Von Shock" from Image Comics. The first reader to locate the drawn Sheri Moon Zombie cameo in the book wins a cookie!... and a boner.

Summit Entertainment is preparing for new franchise hopes with its newly acquired script "The Last Witch Hunter" written by Cory Goodman. So far, Timur Bekmambetov is definitely producing the film and may direct as well. Despite who's on board, there is no way this movie can stack up next to Nic Cage's hair in "Season of the Witch".

"True Blood" fans rejoice; you do not have to wait much longer to sink your teeth into Sookie Stackhouse. HBO has announced that the hit series will return on Sunday June 13th.

In Real People News:

Did the CIA secretly douse NYC Subway commuters with LSD in 1950? I don't know, but this article on H.P. Arabellis book on CIA Cold War era weapons testing makes a fascinating read regardless.

It's always good to have goals in life. In some cases though, like Donna Simpson's goal of becoming the fattest woman in the world, these goals really need to be re-thought.

Preview: "CSI: Miami" Directed By Rob Zombie

A preview for Monday night's "CSI: Miami" directed by Mr. Rob Zombie is online and ready for your viewing. I don't want to give anything away but Malcolm McDowell is in it. But then again you probably could have guessed that. I think when we found out a couple months back that Rob Zombie was directing an episode of "CSI: Miami" we all collectively said, "Well that's nice for Malcolm McDowell at least". No sign of Mrs. Zombie but I'm sure she's in there someplace. It'll be like a fun game we can all play Monday night, "spot the stripper with a voice that makes you want to cut your ears off."

Horror Headlines: Wednesday February 24th, 2010

There's been a lot of talk about "Scream IV" as of late but according to Wes Craven via his twitter, he still hasn't signed to direct the film. "I'm still in talks but nothing has been finalized." You'd think that would be high on the list of things to get done when they started discussing a fourth film with him.

Starting this weekend, you'll have a new place to find some horror on your cable dial. MTV will start a weekly horror block every Saturday night at 10pm. The new programming kicks off this weekend with "Land of the Dead" which will be followed by "The Hills Have Eyes" remake, "The House of the Devil" and more.

In case you've forgotten, Rob Zombie has directed an episode of "CSI: Miami" which will be airing soon. In a recent interview, the director showed off a new trailer for the episode and made comments that he's not sure how much TV he will direct since he's geared more towards movies. In Rob Zombie interview speak, that means he'll be directing an entire season of "CSI: Rednecks" by next fall.

Scottish beer maestros "BrewDog" have released a new beer with 32% alcohol content named Tactical Nuclear Penguin.

Portsmouth police were called on site when two crackheads begin beating the crap out of each other over who gets to smoke the largest rock. In what can only be described as a 'special finishing move', when police arrived one of the smokers was found to have all of his colostomy bags pulled out as well.

Heavy Metal News Updates!

- The big news of the week, Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie are not only touring together, but they've posted dates! Which are...sparse...to say the least. A handful of Mid- and West-Canadian dates, topped off with two in the booming metropolises (metropoli? metropolies? metropoliseses? What's the plural of metropolis?) of Kennewick, Washington and Casper, Wyoming. Let's hope this is a warm up for a bigger tour, perhaps around Halloween.

- Fear Factory also just announced their tour dates, so heads up to fans on the west coast and in the southwestern US.

Album Review: Rob Zombie - "Hellbilly Deluxe 2"

At this point, I had no idea what to expect from Rob Zombie. “Hellbilly Deluxe” and “Sinister Urge” were both modern masterpieces, and then “Educated Horses” was a confusing, muddled mess of an album. After a few years away directing movies, out comes “Hellbilly Deluxe 2,” finally debuting after two lengthy delays from the time of recording in 2008.

This new album is several magnitudes of order better than “Educated Horses.” I’m not exactly going out on a limb by saying that, but there it is.

Horror Headlines: Wednesday January 27th, 2010

If you thought the “Clash of the Titans” remake was going to be kick ass, now you can see it in 3D. Sure it wasn’t filmed for 3D and will most likely just give you a headache but who are you to judge. You’re such a downer sometimes.

Jay Mohr has joined the cast of Clint Eastwood’s new thriller "Hereafter". I have nothing bad to say about Jay Mohr, he’s funny and adorable. But his co-star Matt Damon! Oh who am I kidding he’s adorable too.

A two minute clip of the high seas thriller “Triangle” is now online for your viewing pleasure. The film is by "Severance" director Chris Smith and stars the most frightening set of clouds you’ve ever seen.

Love Rob Zombie but think his movies lack the excitement of a forensic investigation? You’re in luck! He’s directed an episode of “CSI: Miami” that will air on March 1st titled “LA”. And yes of course Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top makes an appearance.

In Real People News:

Kids do the darndest things! Like gun down their father's girlfriend with a shotgun. Wait no that's not funny at all.

I've never had a desire to visit Scotland until I found out I could walk along the coast in the nude proudly displaying my sex toy collection. Those sick SOBs sure know how to party.

The need to riot and beat the hell out of someone at a soccer game is still a mystery to me. The need to stab someone over a soccer video game though makes perfect sense though. Many a night my brother and I came close to murdering each other after a game of RBI Baseball.

Screenwriter Todd Farmer turns to his blog to explain away the recent delay of "Halloween 3D". He makes sure to get a few digs in on Bob Weinstein as well!

In case you haven't heard, Rob Zombie has been slated to direct an upcoming episode of "CSI: Miami". Via his Myspace blog that doubles as his own personal press conference, Zombie released a teaser image for the episode that shows a few Rob Zombie standards in guest starring roles.

The King of the Zulus has declared that he is bringing back circumcision to his people. This alarms South Africa because the Zulu process includes a month long seclusion in nakedness which comes with a high death rate. Among other maladies there have been many reported cases of rotting penises, hypothermia, and HIV due to doctors using the same knife on large groups of boys.

Although it really comes as no surprise, director Ivan Reitman has been confirmed for Ghostbusters 3 However, you are permitted to remain skeptical.

Do you like Rob Zombie? Do you like "CSI: Miami." If so, you're in for a treat. Apparently, Zombie is scheduled to lense an episode of the popular television series later this year. I'm trembling with anticipation. Yawn.

The American trailer for "Creep" director Christopher Smith's upcoming horror/thriler "Triangle" has finally appeared online. The DVD is currently slated for release on February 2nd.

If an attractive woman suddenly begins feeding you milkshakes, you may want double-check that you're not being poisoned. They should make PSAs for this sort of thing.

I don't think this one needs a setup: In Turkey, a sheep has given birth to a lamb with a human face. Insert Aphex Twin music here.
