Splatterhouse on XB360/PS3!

In searching for pictures of the original "Splatterhouse" video game to go with a blog post begging for a modern revamp of the series, I stumbled on something that many horror and video game nerds have known for some time: IT'S ACTUALLY HAPPENING. Granted, I've only played the "Splatterhouse" games on an emulator, but I was always fascinated with the featuring Jason-esque protagonist in ultraviolent (for the time) 2d beat-em-up mayhem. I would have been happy with a re-skinning for XBox Live Arcade, but this is something totally different and exciting!

Blast From the (Recent) Past - Battle Royale

"Blast from the (Recent) Past" is a periodic feature where I reflect on films I saw and loved before the O.G. version of Bloody Good Horror bit the dust. Now that we're back in the saddle I owe it to the classics of (not so) old for getting me into the genre in the first place.

Release Date: 2000

IMDB Rating: 8.0 (as of post date)

Synopsis

Bloody Good Horror on Twitter!

I know we've dropped hints pretty much everywhere we can already about us being on Twitter, but for the 5-10 of you that still haven't heard it, what are you waiting for! All of our content is posted directly from our RSS feeds, but we will also be adding periodic updates while recording the podcast and brainstorming ideas for the site. Basically, if you want to pick our brains a bit and get behind the scenes, set up an account if you haven't already and follow our happenings!

Lego Mindstorms Robot Solves Rubix Cube

via Geekologie.

Every time I sit back and think of how nerdy I can be, I encounter something like this magnificent MINDSTORMS creation that affirms my normalcy. While I can't claim that I don't think this is insanely cool, I can say that I'm glad that someone else is dedicating their time to such useless pursuits while I plug away at work and occasionally at this very website.

When I said no more zombies...

I didn't mean this! My sickness with the zombie subgenre can be cured by creative puppetry, so consider me a hypocrite!

Real People News - Seattle Toilets Too Dirty for Crackheads

I usually try to refrain from ultra-short blog posts without a video, but this quote from the New York Times article about Seattle closing their public toilets was more than worthy of a post all it's own...

Prince of Persia + E3 + Sigur Ros?!

I'm not sure what's more shocking, the fact that "Saeglopur" by Icelandic atmospheric superstars Sigur Ros is featured in the trailer for the next gen version of "Prince of Persia" or that fanboys/girls are generally really digging the jam. Either way, this trailer looks beautiful and I will most certainly be picking this up when it comes out. As long as the action stays more on the actual action and less on the fairy magic side, I think I'll be quite pleased.

Los Campeones De La Lucha Libre!

While I've been sitting back eagerly anticipating/dreading Rob Zombies perpetually-in-production animated Lucha film "The Haunted World of El Superbeasto," the folks behind lucha zine "From Parts Unknown" have been piecing together an animated feature called "Los Campeones De La Lucha Libre" (that's spanish for, the niño) that looks to be a slightly more teenish if not adultish version of Cartoon Network's "Mucha Lucha," and I'm ok with that!

Need some ill-noni design work done?

I try to shy away from shameless shills in general (unless they are paid or my own), but my good buddy/former roommate Adam just put up his new site. It's simple, to the point, and you should see pretty clearly that he knows what he's doing. He specializes in punk/hardcore t-shirt designs, layouts, and posters, but he's looking to expand beyond that so I bet he'd be psyched to do some horror stuff too! Tell him we sent you too.

I made him watch Black Sheep with me and he loved it, so he can't be too bad of a guy either!
