"Paranormal Activity": For your instant viewing pleasure on NetFlix

With "Paranormal Activity 2" being release this Thursday at midnight, what better time than to view the original? Are you in luck! It's available to stream via Netflix!

I know this type of movie isn't everyone's bowl of wax, but I love it. It just goes to show that a good movies doesn't need to be loaded with 3D, massive CGI, a huge budget and cheap scares to be entertaining.

Halloween Countdown - 16 Days to go!

Sometimes, you find something just so bizarre, part of you hopes it isn't real - and part of you secretly hopes it is. I came across this trailer yesterday for the movie "Raped By Satan" via the twitter user JonKillerFilm. I'm on some heavy painkillers currently, and I'm not sure if that's what allowed me to watch this at least 5 times, cackling to myself in morbid delight. Or that could have been a RESULT of the painkillers, but I'm not one for details.

Halloween Countdown - 18 Days to go!

As the countdown continues, today's entry is sponsored by the movie "Hostel" - I couldn't help but think of it after last night's visit to the ER.

I always liked this movie, although I know others don't care for it. While I did expect it to be more gory than it was, I enjoyed the story and there's still plenty of blood and guts to go around. And it makes you think twice about the Dutch.

Halloween Countdown - 20 Days to go!

Twenty more days to go until Halloween. I know we here at BGH have some great party plans lined up during this month, as well as on Halloween, but we want to know: What are YOUR plans? Comment and let us know!

Halloween Countdown - 24 Days to go!

As we continue the Halloween countdown, allow me to direct your attention to some of the coolest damn collectibles out there -Sideshow Toys "The Dead" series. These things are great - excellent detail, highly pose-able, lots of accessories and they just look damn cool!

They're not exactly cheap (figures can range from $50-$200), but that hasn't stopped me from trying to collect them all. Some of the earlier models are sold out, but you can usually find them on eBay as well.

Halloween Countdown - 25 Days to go!

I think it's safe to say we all love Halloween. So in order to make the wait JUST a tad more bearable, I'll be giving you random daily horror tidbits!

For today, I bring you the horror-comedy Hatchet! If you haven't heard, in a rather shit-tastic move, the recently released Hatchet II has been pulled from theaters. So since we can't watch that, we'll revisit the first one! Enjoy!

Retro Trailer: "A Nightmare on Elm Street" Trailer (1984 - you know, the good one?)

As BGH re-visits the horror podcast classics, I'm continuing the theme with my first horror obsession - Wes Craven's "A Nightmare on Elm Street". You know the story - the kids of Elm Street are being visited in their dreams by scarred man in a fedora, a green & red striped sweater and a gloved hand with razor fingers. The movie continually blurs the line between reality & dream as the teens are picked off one by one - because if you die in your dream.... you die for real.

The Chicago Horror Film Festival

If you're even remotely interested in horror (and if you're not, why the hell are you reading this?) and you're anywhere near the Chicago area, you MUST check out the Chicago Horror Film Festival, hosted by author Jason Davis this coming weekend. This is a HUGE event spanning 3 days between this Friday, September 24th and Sunday the 26th. They have an amazing line up (click here to see), including one I've been salivating to see, "The Man Who Collected Food".

Video: It's Time to Get "Ugly" - Again!

On October 6th, the animated hit on Comedy Central is returning for another hilarious season of demons, vampires, zombies & other assorted freaks to poke fun immigration policies and paranoia.

If you’re familiar with the show from last season, you’ll recognize all the Department of Integration characters: Mark - the idealistic social worker; Randal - his roommate who turned himself into a zombie for the sole reason of impressing a girl, and Mark’s demon succubus boss & girlfriend, Callie (My fiance mentions she & I have have uncanny similarities. I’m sure he means my wit, otherwise I’ll tear his arms off.). The cast also includes Leonard Powers- an old, drunk & timid wizard; Twayne - a intimidating demonic bureaucrat (aren't they all? HAR HAR HAR!), and Lt Grimes, a law enforcement official who hates non humans.
