SNL Roundup 10/6

Since I usually spend every Monday pimping out Saturday Night Live as it is, I figured I would start posting some of the best clips from SNL on Mondays for you guys who don't take the time out to watch the show. This season has been especially interesting, as you have two great new talents in Bobby Moynihan and Casey Wilson, a super preggo Amy Poehler, Tina Fey as the human caricature that is Sarah Palin, and Kristen Wiig as the funniest chick on the planet.

How Are Podcast Downloads?

Hey guys, as you probably know we're sort of in transition with our podcast syndication. Before we commit 100% to a new service though, I wanted to do an informal survey of our loyal readers to see if people are still having problems.

I have noticed that Podomatic has actually been a lot more reliable lately, and I want to see if that has been anyone else's experience. So, please do us a favor and leave your thoughts in the comments, so we can make the decision as to what to do. Have your downloads been more stable lately? Have you had any trouble getting the show?

Win $4,000 from AMC!

Hey guys, the good folks over at the AMC Monsterfest Blog (who had the brains to name us their "site of the week" a few months back), are giving away a buttload of money to one lucky winner, in their "Your Greatest Fear Video Contest".

The contest rules are simple, and it would be awesome if one of our readers won the prize so, here are the rules!

WHAT: Submit a one-minute or less short video showing us your greatest fear.

Fringe 1.04 "The Arrival"

Fringe 1.03

The Gist:

As the episode opens, we see a man attack a bus full of people by unleashing an aerosol spray into the air. While leaving the bus we see him grab a backpack from one of the women on the bus. After he is gone, we see that the aerosol has hardened and solidified everyone in a sort of gel like material, leaving them in almost a suspended animation type state.

Prisoner Abel's Short Film

Hey guys, just wanted to post here to give loyal site reader and friend of ours PrisonerAbel some exposure for his short film, titled "Apathy Breeds Contempt". If you scroll down, you can view the trailer for the short via Youtube.

I have to say, pretty frigging disturbing! I had no idea we had such sick bastards hanging out at the site. Okay, so I totally knew, but either way you slice it the trailer's pretty impressive.

He sent us two links for festivals where it will be playing at in the coming weeks, so check them out and see if it's playing in your area.

Horror Hound Magazine Issue 13!

On stands now, Issue lucky number 13 of Horror Hound Magazine! For this issue I was charged with writing a retrospective on the entire "Pumpkinhead" series, an assignment that I have to admit I wasn't so sure about at first.

Horror Icon 2D Fighting Game!

Prepare to soil your pants... like, literally. Go grab some paper towels and put them underneath your ass because you're going to be thankful you did after you watch this video:

Fringe 1.02

Hey guys, Eric here with your weekly coverage of J.J. Abram's "Fringe". As it's a complicated show with a lot going on, I've been struggling to come up with some sort of coherent structure to my episode breakdowns. After putting some thought into it I think I've found what I'm looking for. So check it out and let me know what you think.

SNL Season Opener

I find it kind of funny that most of the people who say "SNL hasn't been funny in years" are people that never even stop to watch it and give it a chance.

The reality is, that over the last 3 - 4 years there has been a lot of really talented young performers on the show, including Amy Poehler, Andy Sambergh, Will Forte and Kristen Wiig.

I never stay up to watch it because as I've covered ad-nauseum on the site, I'm not exactly a night owl. I do love the show though, so the lady and I usually DVR it and watch it on Sunday morning. I know, isn't that cute.
