Valora Chapter 2 and More News Updates!

You remember Valora chapter 1? Well, Chapter 2 is fresh out this week!

This one is titled "Extreme," and while you're at it, the band is offering the song as a free download on Shockhound.

In other metal news:

-The Big Four are finally coming....to the UK. Slayer, Megadeth, Metallica and Anthrax will be uniting again to help headline the UK Sonisphere festival in 2011. While rumors continue to bubble that the tour will make its way to the United States, nothing solid has materialized as yet. By the way, the headliners for Sonisphere will be Slipknot (ugh) and Biffy Clyro. I saw the latter open for Queens of the Stone Age in 2008, and they were pretty awful.

-Cool new idea from Darkthrone. Peaceville Records has purchased a large section of the iconic band's catalogue and will be re-releasing a couple of albums in the coming months. Where the cool idea part comes in is that the band and label are accepting fan submissions for new cover art for both "Goatlord" and "Ravishing Grimness." Serious entries for consideration can be sent to competition@peaceville.co.uk before January 31st, 2011. For more information on the rules and regs, look here.

-Trent Reznor has received a Golden Globe nomination for his original score for "The Social Network," the critically acclaimed feature film about the rise of Facebook. By all reports, Trent is pretty excited about the nomination, which is remarkable for a man who convinced so many of us for so many years that he wasn't capable of excitement.

-Alice Cooper has been elected into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and it's about F'n time!

-Nationwide screenings of "Lemmy" the documentary about the singular Motorhead front man of the same name, begin in earnest in January. Check your local listings, but dates are scheduled for NYC, Austin, Seattle, Portland and Atlanta, with more to come.

-Kyuss Lives! Believe it or not, that's the name of the band. Three quarters of Kyuss (everyone but Josh Homme,) is back together and will be recording new material in 2011.
