The producers behind the sequel to Neil Marshall's "The Descent" have finally come to their senses and ditched the retarded title "De2cent" (which made no fucking sense at all). The official title is now the much classier "The Descent: Part Two". Well played. The film is currently shooting with the entire cast returning, most of which will be in flashback form for obvious reasons.

Bryan Bertino, writer director of "The Strangers", has officially signed on to pen a sequel. Liv Tyler has also signed on to return. I hate the fact that everything that's decent has to get a sequel these days, but there are a lot worse films that you could be sequelizing.

A controversial advertisement for the Spanish flick [REC] has been banned in New Zealand. Apparently the Kiwis took offense to a faux real "Bloody Mary" being served to potential movie goers. What? A little fake cannibalism never hurt anyone.

In Real People News:

Boy is somehow born with two heads even though he was formed from only one embryo. Doctors are calling it an "anomaly". Gee, you think?

The price of rat meat has tripled in Cambodia! Between this and the canned meat scare in Canada, how are we to attain our most delicious of foods? I tell ya, life just isn't fair sometimes.

Here's a new twist to the student / teacher affair... cocaine! Might as well completely screw over your life over while you're at it, right?

This just in, Irish girls are sluts. This should come as good news to all the Ginger chasers running around these parts. Me, I still think they've got the touch of the devil in 'em.

On this day in history:

1988: Three Italian fighter jets from the precision flight team Frecce Tricolori collide while attempting their "Pierced Heart" stunt during an air show at Ramstein Air Base in West Germany. The wreckage of one plane tumbles into the crowd and explodes, killing 40 spectators and seriously injuring hundreds more. The death toll reaches 69 two months later.

The Methods of My Madness

It's been a dry run here lately for me and blog posts, so I figured why not jump in with both feet!

Last week I received an email through my other site Cinema Fromage.com, "How do you manage to watch all of these movies?"

Help me out with some Horror quotes!

Hey guys, need your help here.

I've been putting quotes from different horror films at the top of every podcast episode. At first I was taking them from my DVD collection, but that became time consuming and staring at all my discs made it really hard to make any sort of decision.

¡Viva La Podcast! Giant Bombcast

My love for our horrorcast bretheren (NOTLP, Drunken Zombie, etc.) is well documented, but as with most of my 'cast consumption isn't limited to just one genre. Enter ¡Viva La Podcast!, my introduction of some of my other favorites, second to ours of course!

I literally had not heard of this film "The Haunting of Molly Hartley" until Monday night when I went looking to fill out the Upcoming Movies page on the site. I'm guessing it has something to do with the fact that it's a PG-13 movie about a teenage girl being haunted, and the poster looks like something straight out of the late 90's, floating heads and all. Much like "Twilight", you're going to have to look to the corporate shill sites for wall to wall coverage on this one from now on.

Bill Moseley has joined the cast of an untitled Twisted Pictures thriller being directed by Rob Lieberman. Moseley will be co-starring with Erica Christensen. First Paris Hilton and now her? Sounds like our man Bill is moving up in the world!

After Dark Horror Fest has released it's promotional poster for this year, and I'm so excited I can hardly contain myself. How these people are allowed to pollute theaters every year with the worst indie horror crap they can find is beyond me.

In Real People News:

Doctor is losing his license for letting a patient give him a blow job before giving her a nose job. I would think you would wait until after the nose job, but I guess I'm just practical like that.

San Fransisco man hits grandfather on the head with a hammer, doesn't get charged because he thought he had to go to the hospital before he could be admitted to a nursing home. A quick Google search could have cleared that up for him, but I'm guessing he's not the kind of guy to think things through like that.

A listeriosis outbreak has killed 26 people in Canada. The outbreak is being tied back to canned meat. Wait, isn't that all they eat up there? How will they subsist?

On this day in history:

1987: Jello Biafra's obscenity trial ends in Los Angeles, with the jury deadlocked 7-5 in favor of acquittal. Prosecutors had hoped to throw the Dead Kennedys singer in jail for including an H.R. Giger poster in the packaging of his band's latest album, Frankenchrist.
