Tiffany Shepis is joining the cast of the "Night of the Demons" remake. Considering how vital Linnea Quigley was to the original, I guess it's only right that they'd cast her modern day equivalent. She joins an interesting cast including Diora Baird, Shannon Elizabeth and Monica Keena.

Dark comedy about a woman living in the silent film world who's cursed with the ability to speak. Now that's an original idea, if only the remake happy suits could come up with something like this.

Check out the poster for the "Friday the 13th" remake. Well, the teaser poster anyways. No missteps yet so I can't hate on this movie today.

David Goyer is talking about his big budget remake of H.G. Wells "The Invisible Man", and I like what he's dishing out. Big budget horror/adventure epic from one of the co-writers of "The Dark Knight"? Sign me up.

Pics from "Underworld 3: Rise of the Lycans". The film is an origin story, telling of how the feud between the vampires and the lycans got started. Kate Beckinsale is replaced this time around by "Doomsday" star Rhona Mitra.

The bill passed by Russian Parliment citing the Emo and Goth styles as "dangerous teen trends" is just another in a long line of examples of how out of touch the Soviet Union's government really is. It's hard to threaten society when all you do all day is mope around and feel sorry for yourself. Plus, it's too hard to see past those bangs to really be a danger to society anyways.

I've heard of people ignoring the 800 pound gorilla in the room, but I can't say I've ever heard of ignoring your mother's rotting corpse for 8 years. That's just gross.

Scientists in the UK analyze possible "Yeti" hairs. Just doing my part to help you out with your daily Crypto fix.

Apparently billionaire Steve Fossett may have staged his plane crash in order to fake his own death... officially making him my hero. I'm not sure why it's so hard to find him though. If it's true that he's faked his own death, he's probably just hanging out in Cuba with Elvis and Tupac. Man, to be a fly on that wall!

1974: Mama Cass Elliot, a very large part of The Mamas and the Papas, dies in London. Although initial reports ascribe the cause of death to choking on a ham sandwich, in actuality it was a heart attack.

Every time I sit back and think of how nerdy I can be, I encounter something like this magnificent MINDSTORMS creation that affirms my normalcy. While I can't claim that I don't think this is insanely cool, I can say that I'm glad that someone else is dedicating their time to such useless pursuits while I plug away at work and occasionally at this very website.

Bloody Good Horror is on Twitter! You now have the ability to follow the excruciating minutiae of our daily lives, how did you get so lucky?

It's probably not a coincidence that my computer refused to play this "Return to Sleepaway Camp" Trailer, but it's okay because I was one of the few who got to see a "sneak peek" of the film at a Fango con about 5 years ago. Trust me, if your computer rebels too you aren't missing much.

I'll let this Arrow article explain all the stuff that's coming out for "The Punisher: Warzone" at Comic Con. I will say though that apparently the director Lexi Alexander has been relieved of her duty, so the studio can revamp the film to take advantage of recent comic book successes at the box office. That should make for a nicely awkward Comic Con panel, since it's already been announced that the director WON'T BE THERE. Ya, this should end well.

The "Watchmen" official site just got a huge update, including blogs, stills, videos and of course the trailer that's been around for a while. I'm still waiting for Mr. Postman to deliver me my copy of the original Graphic Novel so I can see what all the big fuss is about. Expect a report when he finally does.

Blurry footage from Comic Con of "Friday the 13th", the remake. It's actually pretty decent quality, so check that at the link.

New trailer for "My Name is Bruce". The film has been done for a while but the producers liked what they saw, so they decided to go back and beef up the action a bit. It's now set for an October release date, however I'm not sure in what capacity.

Midget cat burglar gets caught stealing candy after long run of successful robberies. Best story ever.

Pig with monkey's face born in China, just another in a long line of Ninja Turtle-esque mutations to happen in China in recent months. Expect our Olympic athletes to come back with extra eyes and limbs when they return from Bejiing this summer.

Fat family breaks slide at water park, hurts themselves, blames the park. Welcome to America. More specifically, welcome to Florida. Yup, this happened less than 15 minutes away from where I live. And you people think I'm making this stuff up.

On this day in history:

1870: Andrew Carr is hanged at Richmond Prison, Dublin. He is dropped from too high, causing his head to separate from the rest of his body -- the greater portion of which twitches for several minutes.

Box Office Special: The Bat Crushes Mulder, Scully

With "The X-Files: I Want to Believe," horror saw its 10th release of the year.
